The works of righteousness mean acts of righteousness or righteous acts. It is the outworking of one’s faith, which are visible to the human eye. It means, doing the works of a man who has no sense of guilt or fear of God, fear of disease, fear of circumstances or fear of a man or demons. Anyone that does the works of righteousness is born of God (1John 2:29).The work of righteousness is peace (Isaiah 21:17). It is the peace of God, which passes all understanding. It fills the heart the moment one becomes a New Creation.

Every believer in Christ Jesus has Eternal Life, which is the life and nature of God (1 John 5:13, John 6:47).Therefore, it’s incumbent on the believers to do the things that the nature of God would do because the believers have the ability of God; the resources of God and the very riches of Christ are at their disposal. There is no limit to what they can do. The nature of God has to be given the right of way to do good works, the works of righteousness. These good works are all planned by the Father, God (Ephesians 2; 10).

Jesus said, “The works that I do shall ye do also” (John 14:12). Jesus blessed the world, He fed the multitudes, healed the sick, raised the dead and comforted the broken-hearted, so shall the believers do the same and in addition, they are expected to lead the sinners to Christ.

1 John 2:29 (KJV)

29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
